Facilitates and oversees the nomination and election of the Board of Directors. Usually chaired by the Ethics Committee Chairman.
Formulates guidelines on matters pertaining to the conduct of business and practices of NASBI broker salesmen to ensure high esteem of professionalism. Imposes sanctions for violation of the NASBI By-laws and rules by which all members agreed to be guided. Take steps and device ways and means for the settlement of disputes amongst the members of the association.
Formulate and implement conventions for the sales and distribution of securities. Act on all queries and requests pertinent to sales and distribution issues and on matters related to its operations and procedures. Ensures the continuing development of the capital market by assisting in the formulation and development of capital market products supported by rules and regulations of the appropriate regulatory authorities. The Sales and Distribution Committee is the NASBI representative to the PDEx Brokers Committee and serves as its Vice Chairman.
Oversees the licensing compliance and continuing education of its members and recommends educational programs to the Board relating to the improvement of professionalism amongst its members. Coordinates the activities and objectives of the Association with that of different non-government organizations, business associations, and the academe in terms of banking education and recommends sponsorship of seminars and training programs pertaining to sales and distribution and investors protection.
Exercises general supervision over the fiscal and financial affairs of the Association. The Finance Committee sees to it that all funds of the Association are duly accounted for and disbursed for legitimate purposes. The Treasurer chairs the Finance Committee.
Screens all applicants for membership and recommends approval to the Board. As a practice and good governance, members of this Committee are disqualified from sponsoring applicants for membership. The Secretary chairs the Membership Committee.
To pass and act upon all matters affecting the Association between meetings of the Board of Directors, and to meet as often as exigencies on the affairs of the Association require. All matters passed and acted upon by the ExeCom during the year were reported to the Board of Directors. The President chairs the ExCom.
Acts as advisor to the NASBI Board on matters and issues concerning the Association. The past Presidents of the Association who are not members of the current Board automatically become members of the Advisory Council.
Facilitates and oversees the preparation and execution of the Annual General Membership Meeting and Election and related and/or similar activities of the Association.
Coordinates and liaise with the regulatory authorities such as the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, the Securities and Exchange Committee, the Bureau of the Treasury and other external bodies as may be necessary.
